So, I've had a sore throat that turned into a cough that hasn't gone away for a week (not COVID, just a cold), which means having this one in the list was actually quite timely. I put this one in the middle because I knew I didn't want to have it last, because I didn't think I was going to like the ginseng particualrly much. I was right.

A Yumchaa blend; they describe Ginseng Guardian as 'You'll never feel under the weather with Ginseng Guardian. A Yumchaa favourite, zingy lemon meets the natural sweetness of ginseng for an energising brew that knocks out any cold. A revitalising blend for the mornings and a soothing nightcap before bed.
Ingredients: Sencha green tea, ginseng root, lemongrass, lemon granulate, sunflower blossoms.
3 mins brewing for the first cup. Added honey (which by this time had crystallised after sitting for a while) so added more hot water, which made it more dilute which... wasn't so much of a bad thing given how I felt about the ginseng, to be honest.
Didn't cold brew this one, as for a 'soother drink' I kinda want it hot and soothing and going otherwise would... defeat the point? Also, given my track record with cold brewing greens...
Hot Brew
Verdict: Getting the ginseng most of all, or at least what I assume is the ginseng because I don't actually know what ginseng tastes like, but there's an earthy taste most of all. I'm not really getting the sweetness, but I think I just have more of a sweet tooth than this. I think the lemon comes in at the end, with a slight sourness but not too much. It's drinkable, but it's not my favourite. With a little honey, it's better, as it's got a slight sweet lift at the end. It is, however, soothing for my sore throat. And green tea is always good when hot brewed.
Lessons Learned: You know how they say 'a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down sweeter?' Yeah, that, but replace 'sugar' with 'honey' and 'medicine' with 'ginseng and lemon tea'. I can take medicine with just water especially if it's a tablet or capsule, but this one, hmmm.
Would I drink it again?I will, when I'm sick. It's not tasty enough to drink when I'm not sick (especially not over my other drink for when I have a cold, lemon juice and honey, which tastes much better with it's sweet-sourness) so I wouldn't be reaching for it over that, but if it works better than my go-to, then I might.
