Amber was believed by the Vikings to be the tears of Freyja, their goddess of love and beauty. It symbolises cleansing, healing, protection, renewal; some have believed it to symbolise a resting place for departed souls due to the preserved insects in the resin. It has been used as a talisman for courage and confidence. Amber is one of the birthstones of Taurus as it's known to increase good luck, as well as helping Taurus personalities in their practical ventures.

And took 'healing' as long as the last amebr thing I saw a lot of just before starting this fic, which was cough syrup. This is basically what I wished I had last month when I was sick; very wish fulfilmenty.

Another green to soothe ourselves a bit after that smoky Russian Caravan. I like gunpowder teas, and I love mint, so this should be good.

I wrote this about a month ago for 100 Fandoms Challenge/Hell and 100 Ships, but am bringing it back for the third prompt of sunshine_challenge which is Moonstone, because Peter and his father are talking about their ship the Moonstone and also I'm still writing things for the first two prompts, so I'm letting myself have this one a bit easier.

A break from the scheduled tea haul sipdowns; I drunk this yesterday evening because next on my Yumchaa list was the Russian Caravan and I was not about to put caffeine from two black teas and a thoroughly oxidised oolong in my body at 9:30pm. Green still has some, but I'll probably still be able to sleep afterwards.



This is a French brand, so I didn't actually buy this one and wouldn't have got my hands on it if I didn't want to pay international shipping (which I don't, but is a shame because some of their other teas do look really nice), but my dad got a this tin from a TK Maxx (TJ Maxx to those in the US and possibly elsewhere) and I wanted to try it so I did.

The tins are lovely - looking online it doesn't seem that Thes de la Pagode do them for all their blends, but they're shaped like lovely little pagodas. Some of them are square, but some of them are round and have little tassels and they're so cute.

Wrote a little thing! Ares is one... interesting headspace, though. But I haven't posted in a month, so it's good to write again.

Getting sick lead indirectly to my library book pile going down from 32 to 20, only 4 of which were actually finished. Most of those were from the library that I volunteer at, so I can just pick them up again when I get back, but one will need to be reserved again. And a £5 late book fine, which sucks, but at least I learned now rather than when I went away from my local library for a few weeks which meant I would have racked up more fines... anyway. Book time!

Wanted to keep track of what I've been watching week by week (and also give myself an impetus to watch something every week because my to watch list is too long)
(Yes, it's not Wednesday anymore, shh....)

Medici - 1x01-4
So I saw a gif from the end of the second season that hit me just right, and decided I needed to watch this show for the familial dynamics present especially in the later seasons. The first season is nice watching too, the 1400s Florence atmosphere is just very rich and easy to watch. Also, Richard Madden in eyeliner is very easy on the eyes. And the character Contessina de Bardi riding into the town hall and giving a speech whilst on a white horse was a moment to behold.

Very looking forward to continuing with this one.

Kinnporsche - Episode 1
One of my Tumblr mutuals posts about this a lot, and I saw Thai men in love and was like 'I'll give that a shot.' Turns out, the basic premise is 'second son of a mafia family hires bartender and underground boxer to be his bodyguard, which the latter accepts because his family needs money.' Which was interesting, but I like it.

Probably going to watch this one more slowly, but I'm intrigued by the first ep.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
So Sci has actually never seen most Disney films - knows the plots, has heard some of the songs, yes, but never seen most of the films all together as films. (To be fair, Sci hasn't seen most things that could be called classics, including any Star Wars or Middle Earth content, which she does really need to get to at some point.)

Whilst there are interesting things in the film that date it to 1937 in terms of attitudes (aka Snow White met the Prince for like, 10 minutes before instalove), I do have to admit that the animals, particularly the birds, are really cute.

The first flavoured tea that's strictly a tea, and boy, do I love this one.
